Setting up a team in your workplace

Getting your workmates on board and setting up a Biggest Loser Club team is easy, but it does require some organisation. Here's how to tackle it:

  1. Find out who’s interested. Ask around the office, post a message on the work intranet or bulletin board and find out who might be interested in joining the team and doing a 12-week weight-loss program with The Biggest Loser Club.
  2. Petition the boss. Approach your boss or HR department about starting a team weight-loss challenge in your workplace. Be prepared with facts such as:
          1. the number of workmates who are interested in joining the team
          2. the cost of the program ($99 per head for 12 weeks)
          3. the benefits for the company e.g. healthier staff, improved productivity, boost in morale, etc

You can use our Teams PowerPoint presentation (2.3MB) as a template for preparing the pitch to your boss. Alternatively, you could dob in your boss and we'd be happy to contact him or her for you.
  3. Choose a champion. If the boss gives you the go-ahead, you’ll need to assign a team administrator who’ll be responsible for:
          1. registering your team with The Biggest Loser Club – you’ll need to decide on a team name and find a team photo or company logo for the team page.
          2. setting up any sub-teams, for example, Accounts, Marketing, Logistics. This is recommended if you want to encourage some healthy competition within the company!
          3. purchasing the special membership vouchers that will allow your workmates to sign up for The Club. You can pay for these by credit card or direct deposit.
  4. Set a date and start losing weight! Once you’ve got everything set up, you can distribute the membership vouchers and get started! Remember to set a 'Finale' date so after 12 weeks you can celebrate the success of the team and crown the Biggest Loser in your workplace.
