Robyn, 27, had gained a lot of weight because of her irregular hours at work and some bad eating habits. However, a new romance was the motivation she needed to get back into shape. This is how she did it...

"I used to be 55kg but a busy lifestyle and shift work meant I got out of shape. I was eating at all times of the day and night and it made it difficult for me to find time to exercise. I’d got to the heaviest I’d ever been – 75kg – and I didn’t like that at all! Then, I started to think of the future, about getting fit and healthy, plus I wanted to look good for myself and my new partner."

Robyn had a simple but powerful inspiration that kept bringing her back to her commitment to reach her goals. "I found a picture of a really nice dress that I wanted to get into, I kept it next to my exercise bike and every time I was on it, cycling like mad, I kept thinking  ‘I can do this, I can do this’. I  just set my mind to it. I also walked early in the morning for 40 minutes a day and took my dog out for half an hour at night. Getting motivated was the tough part but then I got into a routine and it got easier."

Apart from increasing her exercise, Robyn also started to re-train some of her eating habits, such as random meal times and snacking on junk food. "I started to learn to eat healthily, and I even set my alarm on my phone so that I was always eating at the same time. Perhaps the best thing I learned at The Biggest Loser Club was all the stuff about food, such as what to eat and when."

For Robyn, changing her weight changed her life because another reason for her motivation was a desire to conceive, and she's now pregnant! "The results for me were huge – it's been the most weight I’ve ever lost! My confidence in myself has skyrocketed and I can wear what I want now. I’ve moved to the Gold Coast with my partner and I’m going to have a baby! I’m thrilled I lost the weight before that happened, which was a big goal for me. So far I haven't put too much on, probably because I learned to eat healthily from the beginning."

Robyn reckons the secret of her success was having such a strong reason to stay on track. "That would be my advice to other members, really focus on your goal. When the going gets tough that's what's going to see you through. There were days when I slipped up and ate too much or didn't exercise, but I got back on it as soon as possible. That's important, knowing there will be days where you feel disappointed in yourself and just moving past it and starting afresh the next day. I know it's worth it because I love the way I look and I love my life now."
